Why does it seem like everyone that I meet recently has a family member who is dying of some type of cancer caused by smoking?

Yesterday I went on a really long bike ride with Crystal along the NCR trail north of Baltimore. She's a really cool kid. I was so surprrised because she had just gottten her bike fixed and hasn't really ridden in about 4 years but she still just about wore me out!
