Here's links to the Department of Education guides for student aid.. I had Stafford loans for grad school, mostly subsidized and some unsubsidized. Subsidized are the best because no interest builds up while you're in school and not repaying them... And if you're out of school and unemployed or not making enough money there are provisions where you can stop repaying your loans for a time.. There's also a push for lower interest rates right now too, which is great

Yeah, the parents claiming me is what's gonna kill my chances.
I don't know. I'll just have to look.
The only loans I get are the unsubsidized ones avaiable to everyone. One year I did get the sub and unsub loans, though. That was exciting.
See, I could get more money this year because my sister is starting IU in the fall. Her, my younger brother, and me all getting loans? Lots in it, hopefully.
Oh yeah, I can't claim anything on my taxes because my parents claim me. Interest on loans paid, anything on loans paid, tuition I pay for out of my pocket, books, nothing. It sucks.
To top it off, my dad doesn't give me anything for being a break for him! He's basically taking my money. :(
