... erm, well done, you got the mix of real-life details and SOUL-CRUSHING, SLOW-BURNING MISERY that the book has really well! I loved the reference to Linda and Hailsham's art, actually :( and that Mello bucked this system too.

What I meant was that the original intention was to sit down and write the alien fic out properly rather than start a whole new thing.

This was incredibly lovely. It was heartbreaking in it's straightforwardness, so reminiscent of the author's style. You did a great job capturing the bleakness and subtle hopelessness I felt when I read the book. I can't believe you actually incorporated the Never Let Me Go story into a Death Note fic - it's beyond amazing to find something so uncommon and wonderful ;'D
