It is pretty much bullshit. I wrote a letter to my congressmen. We have some strong opponents, but I'm sure we can stop it if we just try. Otherwise who is to say, maybe I don't really feel like watching any movies or new music for, I don't know... the next five years... I'm sure I can personally outlast the RIAA. >:/
I'm kind of annoyed I don't have a congressperson to write to, really, being in the UK. I mean, they're already exporting British citizens to stand trial in the US for something that isn't criminal here, so this is clearly something we should have a voice in, no? No exportation without representation, or whatever.
And good luck with the music thing. Have you heard of the Black March plan?
Yeah, things are starting to get weird. When you suddenly find yourself on the same side as the Tea Party you know life has suddenly taken a turn you didn't expect. I'm not good up on current events, why are they arresting UK citizens? And no, I haven't heard of the Black March plan, either. I pretty much just go to class and go home anymore. :(
Only the one so far, but I'm guessing there'll be more. The Black March idea is that, if we buy any music or books or films at all during March, we only buy the ones produced by independent distributors, not the ones supporting SOPA.
