so. for some time now, my mother has been getting a titch senile. not the dottering, friendly kind of senile, like your grandma, but the makes stuff up and believes it and then gets upset when you argue for reality (or the collective insanity, if you prefer) kind. it's frustrating as fuck, and it would have been nice if she could have waited a few

I've heard conjecture about nalgene bottles causing a variety of problems(including enlarged prostates), but they're all connected to hot liquid exposure (like running it through the dishwasher) leaching carcinogens from the lexan, and only a few studies have been done. I think Downs Syndrome is the only fetal exposure byproduct that's come up, but again, only a few studies have been done.

Wash it by hand if you're concerned about it, but I wouldn't worry. Nalgene bottles are so predominant in society that we'd know by now if they were causing a significant increase in any birth defects.
