Well, I'm excited. Lately I've been very much enjoying some fantasy/sci-fi books from publisher The Black Library. At first I thought they'd be tacky, and yes, some of them are, but I was suprised to find that some of them were actually very good books! I've been having a lot of fun reading them. In the last 4 months, I've bought and read over ( Read more... )

On the fantasy side of their selection I suggest the "slayer" books.

And just to let ya know..The Black Library is an offshoot of Games Workshop and Citadel Miniatures. They make Warhammer and Warhammer 40K.. a miniatures wargames that you'll find someo f those characters in.

Haha, I know! I've been painting/playing Warhammer for seven years, thats what's gotten me into the books. (See the update before this and you'll understand the insanity of it all)

I've been really wanting to get into the Slayer books. I know that the early ones are out of print but they've got two Omnibus collection books. I'm guessing 3 books in each collection, so I may get those. I tried ordering the first Gotrek & Felix Omnibus from B&N, but they couldn't get it, so I'm going to try online.

What did you think of them?

D'oh!

I never had a chance to read them. I used to work in an independant retailer of GW but I was let go before i got to read any of the books. I started reading Space Wolf and one of the vampire books. The store manager read them and he really liked them and I trust his judgement.

I'm so thankful that a GW store opened up here.. I vowed I'd never go back to the store I worked because of the rotten treatment I had gotten from the store's owner.
