So I'm just about the head out the door to get blood tests done, the doctor has said it could be a lot of things and has used scary words like thyroid and diabetes. And today I'll have something stuck in my arm to remove a small bit of my life force so they can find out, I don't know when I get the results back but can guarantee some sleepless ( Read more... )

I'm already too dizzy and lethargic... if I get the house tidy and aren't feeling too in need of bed I may go... but recently I haven't been feeling upto it

*hugs* blood tests are the best way to eliminate lots of things all at once or show up an irregularity quickly. Usually about a week to get results back as they have to be sent to the hospital and stuff.

There's no point worrying about something you can't influence *hugs* We'll have bouncy fun this weekend to take your mind off it :D

And yes, as someone who has been frequently drained of blood, they only take a tiny fraction (even though it can seem like they take forever to take it out *gives you a sweetie to take your mind off it*)

lol I will worry though, you know it

I'm only worried about them taking blood because I'm already a bit weak, but it's over now and I'm fine

Heh, they won't take enough blood from you to affect you negatively, trust me, I had multiple blood test every week for over a year!

If needles freak you out, I can give you the following advice; don't look, and have something sweet for afterwards.

Results will depend on where you have them done and what they're testing for. Tests at GP'stake slightly longeras the samples get saved up and ferryed to the hospital lab for testing. If it's at Jimmys/LGI it'll be quicker. Basic tests like blood counts, vitamin levels etc are relatively quick (I get those back while I wait at the oncology dept), more exotic tests may take a few days. TH levels and Diabetes tests are very quick though, so you shouldn't be waiting too long!

:)

Good luck, hope it doesn't turn out to be anything too bad!

yea I've had blood tests before and been fine, but since I'm already feeling dizzy and a bit delicate I was a bit worried this time.

I'm getting the results on tuesday... hopefully it wont be anything too bad
