It's posts like these that make me want to pick your brain some day. I read every word of this post and found myself going, "Yeah, yeah, I did that too! What a disappointment Christmas was that year!"

This is why my parents never put out gifts for me or my brother until late Christmas Eve. xD We're too crafty otherwise.

Really nice lessons and analysis there. My twin sister always makes me sometimes for Christmas from her art projects and I can honestly say I treasure those more than anything else in the world. I agree those are the best gifts and the ones you know someone really thought about to get it personalized to suit you.

I hate cards for that very reason. I learned this at Father's day when all the cards couldn't be said to my father...
