YOU HAVEN'T??? *is impressed* you are a good good girl my dear Magda!!! if you look careful at the picture, you'll see there's ice cream on the right, on the left and behind, lol!!!
Arepas are a very traditional Venezuelan meal, they are made out of corn dough and shaped into patties, baked them and then filled them with anything you want (ham, cheese, chicken, etc). Hallacas are a bit more complicated, they are part of the traditional meal for Xmas time. They are made out of the same dough as arepas, then you put some chicken stew, beef stew and pork stew, pickled veggies, olives, boiled eggs, pieces of bacon, a bit of raisins, boiled potatoes, and a few other things. You wrap that in banana leaves (they look like a small package) and then boiled them and you can freeze them for up to 3 months and every time you want one, boil it to reheat and eat them!!! ;)
