I've not been to many weddings, but those I have attended have had great cakes. Delicious, unique, 'it's a shame to cut it up' cakes.

Here's the latest - from the wedding of strange_powers' brother Alex and his wife Gayle. All of the top table guests were documented in sugar. "That one's uncanny" said another guest, meaning Nick. I'm fairly certain Nick's ( Read more... )

Oooh, I look delicious. And the bit of cake I'm about to eat on the cake looks delicious (and proportionally gigantic) too.

on the mini cakes, were there even minier versions of the top table?

did you eat yourself?

The mini cakes were slices of the table, so no opportunity for sugar Nick to eat himself - or real Nick, as Gayle saved them all for posterity. They're a very hard sugar, so should last a long time in a little perspex box.

There sadly was no mini version of the cake itself - it was the first thing I looked for. And my brother and Gayle spirited the figures off for posterity and preservation - apparently they'll keep indefinitely! So I may yet get to eat myself at some future point. Fingers are crossed.

Amazing cake. Are you on it as well? Sorry, I'm finding my ignorance of your relationship or otherwise* to strange_powers is inhibiting my understanding of whether or not that is likely.

*Or indeed, my lack of paying attention.

Sadly, girlfriends of the best men (there were two best men - Nick/strange_powers and his middle brother Chris) didn't make it onto the top table or the cakey replica - so there's no tiny sugar me...

As compensation, here’s a picture of one of the 2D residents of
Samlesbury Hall,* where the wedding was held, having a sing-along with the wedding reception band.
