So lovely to hear from you. I really must get around to reading and updating these journals more often, I miss being in touch with people.
All it needs is a sprinkling of Seasonal Snow, which we may get this weekend according to the met office - it's certainly cold enough - and the Tardis on the Castle would make a great Christmas card for Doctor Who fans.
It ia a lovely Castle - and the second largest in Britain, apparently. Only Windsor Castle is bigger. The leaning tower was undermined and then blown up by Cromwell's forces during the English civil war (1642-1649) and they still didn't manage to destroy it. It has been leaning over ever since. Just imagine the amount of gunpowder it might have taken to do that much damage - the walls are at least 3ft thick at the base - and then consider the fact that the tower hasn't fallen in the 350 or so years since the event, and you'll have an idea of how solid and impenetrable castles really are. Great news if you're inside one duing a battle, but not so great if you're beseiged inside for weeks.:D
And yes - we really coulsn't stop staring at the T.A.R.D.I.S. If the Doctor had opened the door to step out, though, he'd have been faced with a rather severe drop into the moat.

Lovely castle too, I'll have to add that one to my list of places to be photographed. Love the leaning tower....the leaning tower of Caerphilly?

...maybe that's what causes him to regenerate?
