I just hope they'll find someone unknown and gorgeous! LoL
None of them look like Jared or Ian
But then again I still can't picture Seirsha as Mel/Wanda, so...
I just hope this whole thing will not be a total dissapointment

I understands people's disappointment in the actors not looking like the written description, but one thing I think people forget that this is a MOVIE. A movie, a good one, needs actors that can actually act. No matter how close the actor matches physically to the book character, that actor won't succeed if he/she can't make the role believable.

The Host is pretty damn lucky to land a lead that is as talented as Saoirse Ronan. Why? Because half the battle of making a good movie consist of acting. Ronan can act, and I bet she act out any look-a-like actress a book fan proposes. The other half is the script & execution. The latter component is done by Andrew Niccol. You don't know him? Google him.

What worries me is that book fans not knowing that acting, script (dialogue & tone), and execution are the fundamentals for a critically acclaimed movie.

Looks can be deceiving folks. Remember that.
