1. Picture(s) of yourself.
I was cracking people up with my Neil Diamond.
I wear these glasses because I know they're dorky.
2. Nerdy hobbies:
Programming, .NET ,Everquest, Farscape, Stargate, Babylon 5, Babylon 5: Crusade, Comics.
I have about 8000 comics, ranging all the way back to the 1960's. I have tons of classic X-MEN as well as silver age DC comics in my collection. The crowning jewel of it, is a Fantastic Four #5, which is the first appearance of Dr. Doom. I also loved the Peter David and John Byrne runs on The Hulk.
I love Grant Morrison. He's by far the best writer in comics today, at least in my opinion. If you haven't seen his work check out the early issues of Animal Man, as well as the Invisibles, and about the last 50 issues of "New X-MEN".
Pete Milligan is also an incredible writer, I loved how he picked up where Grant Morrison left off in Animal Man, and E for Enigma was a great mini-series.
3. A brief educational history:
I'm a semester away from graduating from the University of Michigan with a Degree in computer science, and a minor in Mathematics. I've got a 3.4 GPA, and my favorite subjects are "Data Structures and Algorithim Analysis" as well as Probability. I'm thinking about applying for Law School or going for my Masters in Computer Science.
4. Hours spent on the internet daily and how you spend time on the 'net.
I spend anywhere from 3-15 hours a day on the internet, I used to spend a lot more when I was heavily into Everquest. Currently, I'm spending a lot of time reading about 3D game engine design, as well as AI. I also check out "Gone Gold" and Something Awful on a daily basis.
5. Other nerdy tidbits that make you unique or make you feel nerdy among your peers.
My friends and I design internet playable AI "wars", where we test out our AI player against another persons. Why do we do this? Because we find it really, really fun.
I go to Las Vegas every year to hang out with a bunch of my friends who play Everquest. Each time, we make a mandatory stop at Quark's, a Star Trek: DS9 themed bar. Klingons, Ferrengi and Borg walk around and interact with the customers. It's a good time.
For the last two years, I've gone to CS games in Montreal, which is a computer science competition, where you do various "games" (usually involving programming) against other schools.
I'm also a closet, AD&D player. By this I mean I've only played the computer versions of the game, which I just can't get enough of. I used to drive my girlfriend crazy writing Neverwinter Nights Modules (an AD&D based game if you didn't know). Now that they added a lot of new content to the game for builders, I have to finish my campaign. It's called Archendale, and it's about a cult of Lycanthropes following the God Malar, at least on the surface.
I love going to comic conventions, usually because of the SCI-FI people that are there. Consequently, I've managed to meet just about everyone from the Babylon 5 cast (as well as getting autographed photos) and a couple of Farscape folks.
I think, with the exception of comics, I own more math and programming books than fiction.
Before Farscape and Babylon 5 were released on DVD, I managed to stay home and video tape every single episode. But since they're out on DVD I had to buy those as well, along with the all of the Star Trek:TNG, and DS9 box sets.
Oh yeah, I almost forgot. I'm a fool for Karaoke. My Neil Diamond and Pat Benatar are pretty unforgetable.
