Here's a thing. Most of you know, because I keep banging on about it, that I go every month to the gig in London called The Distraction Club ( Read more... )

I'm always very frustrated that I can't make this. I got to know Mitch through mutual friends who regularly got tickets to The Now Show, and became a regular attendee. Since moving house across the country the timings 'just do not work' and so I've been unable to come to any of these. Please say hi to him from me. And if he doesn't remember who I am, I'm the one who had the same Dr Who wallpaper on my phone as he did when we compared who was the 'bigger' fan. I had the 2nd doctor theme as my ring tone, which he conceeded meant I won, as he would have preferred that over the current theme on his.

We leave for the Distraction Club at about 6pm. If you could drive into work, would then driving to us, leaving your car here, travelling in to London and back with us and then staying the night here and driving into work from here the following morning help?

That might work. I'm supposed to be at my desk until at least 5.30, then its a 20 minute walk to where I have parking (College) followed by the joy of trying to escape from town during the rush hour. I could try and leave a little earlier, and if I'm organised have a bike in town to get me to the car more quickly. It's worth a try.

very disappointed we couldn't get there this time, sadly detishtry, means I'm not up to travelling and also would scare small children with my swollen and bruised physog. Very jealous it sounds even better than last years Christmas Distraction club, which was amazing.

Not better, but different. Last years was a blast. This years also. It was a shame to not have you there. We qualified as a meet, there were 10 of us there :)

It was only a little punch, really. He came round after about 10 minutes, barely a love tap...
And yeah. Wimbledon. Wembley. Somewhere sporting. With balls. Same thing really

I'd say they were kind-of friends - they make your life richer in many ways.

but I am not a sociable animal, terrified I may say something stupid, which inevitably means I say something stupid. So I tend to hide out the way and say nothing

I've always found you very easy to talk to, so I find this something of a conundrum. I always know I'm going to get a friendly welcome when I talk to you. You won't act like talking to me makes you so uncomfortable you can't get away, you won't tell me to clear off or make me feel as if you're doing me a favour by talking to me. This is very important for something like me, without a whole lot of confidence. (Same goes for a few other good friends I can think of:-)
