Just had a shoulder op, so not able to get out, and bored, and if I'm honest a little off my wossnames on post-surgical painkillers, so I tried High Speed Flash, 1/8000 second flash speed, F1.8 50mm lens, water, and some dyes.

Looks like this;

Wow. Seriously wow!
- I particularly like DSC00665.

BTW, I'm considering getting a new camera body (Nikon).
I mostly do 'low light' photography, and currently thinking of the D5200 as the low light performance seems pretty darn good in the example shots I've found around t'internet.

Are there any others you'd suggest I should be considering that won't break the bank?

Nikon bodies? I really have no idea. I would suggest that so long as the body has reasonable noise-free images down to ISO 1600 then any body would be okay. Obviously a nice piece of glass is the essential part. And there things get expensive. My nephew just bought a Canon zoom lens at f4 which set him back over three grand...and that was a fairly cheap one :)
