Halloween

Although my daughter fell asleep last night (and woke up again, but trust me, it was bedtime) and didn't trick-or-treat, we had our share of Halloween fun at a MOMS Club party last week.

She dressed as a little cheerleader--for University of Florida, of course.

It's not easy to get her to stand still once she's excited.

Oooh, cat tail!

Yay (she was clapping)! I'm standing still!

I felt good about not trying to be all Norman Rockwell or whatever about the holiday because she got her fill of fun at our friend's house, where we had dinner, and she was just tuckered out. It would've been so silly for me to wheel her around (or wear her, but then you couldn't see her costume) while asleep. She was happy to be home and ready for storytime and then bed. We like routine.

We also like the outfit--a lot. So, thank you, elmo7, for gifting her with this last year! It came in very handy!

I think next year I'll do a little more, because this year has been a bit overwhelming. Eventually the decorations will just grow and grow until I have one of those inflatable spooky balls in my front yard!

Just kidding. That's so not like me. :) Mia was around her friends Griffin, Elly, Emmy, and Gracie and parents last night, and that was the most important thing of all. The kid is so socialized, so much more than I ever was. I love it. I love that I gave this to her--opportunities to mingle (well, baby mingling). :)
