It's rant time!

You know who I really can't stand? R/Hr shippers who say that H/Hr has no evidence whatsoever. These are the people who've made this shipping war so nasty. I don't have a problem with R/Hr shippers who actually have the intelligence to say: "Yes, I understand where you're coming from - that H/Hr is possible in canon - but I still don't like it ( Read more... )

I hate to say this, but H/Hr ain't happening - not if the spoilers (which are valid and reliable, since they were spotted and taken down by the publishing company two hours after they were posted) are true. Harry does recieve a kiss, but it isn't from Hermione.

And it isn't from Luna, either.

OOOO. Scary anonymous poster!

Even if Hermione doesn't kiss him in this book does it matter? Cause guess what there is A WHOLE OTHER BOOk left.

Honestly, have shippers forgotten there is another book?

Yeeep! As far as most are concerned there are no more books. HBP is the be all or end all for all ships.

But spoilers? Mountain of salt, please! *truck pulls up and dumps salt over Shantari* Thank you!

Then for the sake of most people's sanity I hope it's not left as open page for the ships. There may be mass suicides....

And for my sanity it better end with Harmony...

I'm just a lurker, I ran into this community today looking up the Giant Squid (I am a GS/WW shipper ha!).

Anyway, my point is that I know a lot of R/Hr shippers who tend to get defensive around H/Hr shippers because there are a lot of H/Hr shippers who are incredibly INYOURFACE obnoxious about R/Hr. Honestly, I think you're the first person I've found who seems to be (in your words) Yes, I understand where you're coming from - that R/Hr is possible in canon - but I still don't like it and prefer to ship H/Hr because that's what I believe will happen." So I suppose it really goes both ways. So props to you for your outlook on things.

Anyway, I'm a R/Hr shipper (mainly because that's what I got from the books back before I even realised there was a huge fandom on LJ), but if he gets with Hermione, good for him. I like other ships much better, such as Giant Squid/Whomping Willow, Harry's Wand/Harry's Glasses, Flitwick/Sprout etc.

H/Hr shippers only get "inyourface" when we are constantly being told by R/Hr shippers that our ship has no canon. If us Harmonie shippers didn't see the evidence in the books, none of us would believe in it so strongly, so it's nice that there's R/Hr shippers that are able to stand up and say, "hey, i can see how your ship has evidence, but these are the clues i see in favor of mine." it's not hard to debate maturely, you know? I have a feeling that regardless of the spoilers lurking around, we're ALL going to be very surprised.

We all thank you for being very understanding in a ranting/bashing type of community. (Some of the stuff on here might look harsh, but it's only us blowing off steam).

Oh, and I like your other pairings... they're very unique! :)

That I understand completely. Because honestly, I hate when either side gets "YOUR SIDE HAS NO CANON, h0r!!" Get a life, your arguments are much more convincing when they're thought out and maturely presented.

As for my pairings...I'm not really a big shipper. I only consider myself R/Hr because out of the two (well, three if you count H/D) major ships, I perfer R/Hr. I tend to like funny ships more than any real ones, probably because my favorite characters are either not well known at all (Zacharias Smith), dead (Cedric Diggory), or just shouldn't be shipped (Snape).

:D Nice chatting with you!

you are right you know. the ship wars are so inanely deluded and frustratingly rampant that i've been hiding out within my own shipping community. but even there, the tension's still unbearable.

Don't worry, guys, in a matter of hours a certain rather popular ship is going to sink into the depths of the sea.

Do you really think so? Having checked your journal, I see which one you're pulling for (and thus have a feeling as to which sinking you're predicting), but do you honestly think that there is going to be any definitive end to the argument after this book ( ... )

As a H/G and R/Hr shipper, I have to say these 'shipping wars' are becoming increasingly insipid. Before HBP came out, I saw your point- It wouldn't be nice for everyone to be insulting you for a ship. Personally, it annoyed me when H/Hr shippers made disparaging comments about my own ship. I was 95% that mine would happen, and, to be quite honest, I didn't see any evidence of H/Hr. The scene with Grawp, which you say the people on the Good Ship said was useless, I actually quite liked, because of the friendship it showed between Harry and Hermione. And in the other books, I liked it when we saw the friendship too. Because, to me, it was clear that friendship was all there was. It's all a matter of perception, really. And, luckily for me, the ship I wanted was what JK actually intended.
