I got another new job... Im really getting the hang of this new job stuff. I got a job working on a Drilling Rig. Pioneer Drilling, Rig 60. Great pay, health and AD&D insurance. I go work for a week then take a week off, etc etc. I make roughly between 3-4k a month, thats twice what i was making busting my ass 4 weeks in a row. So now, i make twice

How did you get that drilling job, and are they hiring? I could stand to make a few more bucks myself (sounds dangerous, though!)

My step dad is the driller for one of the crews, so i got hired by him pretty much. I dunno if they are hiring, but i do know alot of people come and go. So there always seems to be an opening. Its not dangerous unless people dont pay attention to what they are doing.

Does it require steady hands and strength? I have a rather low brute strength level and my hands are firly shakey (notably when using strength for something). For that pay level, I'd be willing to at least try it out unpaid to see how well I could do for a time as a trial.

It does require alot of physical strength. But there are some fairly small guys working out there. In a week or two and you would have plenty oif muscle to get by. Im a pretty big guy but its been a while since i went to the gym so i was pretty weak. But its comeing back now. Also you dont have to do much physical except when pulling the pipe out of the hole, thats when you need alot of strength and stamina, its very exhausting. I recommend it if you think you might like it, trust me though this is one of those jobs you love or hate, if you dont like it it will be miserable. Steady hands not really so much, you should be alright there. i would do some heavy considering before jumpng into. i didnt, ive been hurt quite a few times out there. and that was only my first week.
