I'm in my hotel room in Culver City. A special about Bruce Springsteen just wrapped up on HBO. I don't think a lot about Bruce Springsteen, but it was really good. I still have imposter syndrome in several directions (complicated for me by having two immigrant parents, etc. etc. etc.). The useful thing I can offer is that one can have it yet (learn to) project a professional, competent demeanor successfully enough that others can't tell. For me, teaching helped to build that, more than giving conference papers did; mileage varies.

I'm sorry that you feel so directionless, honey. I will say, though, that perhaps you should be less focused on what "no one has done before" and more focused on making your own games exactly the way you want. Screw everyone else. Their opinions don't matter.

What is important is that you are able to express yourself creatively and artistically in the best way that makes you happy.
