Josh, I have no idea who your talking about but it sounds to me like your criminalizing these people by their lifestyle choices. I mean are these guys still fun to hang out with? Have the fact that they started smoking or drinking or having sex or whatever changed the good times you have with them? Cause it shouldn't, and if it is then these people are at fault, if they consume their life with petty drugs and sex then they have changed, but inless thats the case, why be upset. Smoking is just as unhealthy as getting drunk once or twice a week, inless they chain smoke then its more, and thats just stupid and the person should be made to quit cold turkey (my opnion) and as for having sex, so what? The only group of people who believe we should wait is religous people, I dont affliate myself with any religon, and I believe that everyone is ready when THEY feel they are ready, its different for everyone and as long as they arent being reckless its an expierence that should be enjoyed and treasured. Shoplifting is a tough subject,

You just don't get it. You didn't see the meaning, you just jumped to conclusions and took personal offence when none was offered or meant. You're acting as if I want to take away freedoms of choice, and your inability to see my point (or your knee-jerk reaction before you even got to it) shows you just don't get what I'm saying.
I'm the first guy to let you choose what you want to do, smoke, drink, drugs, sex, any of that. God knows I do my illegal activities just the same as anyone else (fireworks, get buzzed maybe 2x a month) and I understand that they're just the same as what everyone else does, just different activities. The whole point wasn't to criminalize anyone, it's expressing sadness and lament for lost times and wasted years. For the times I loved and know I won't get back.
What Lost times, what wasted years, do you still have fond memories of those years??? Do these new events somehow ERASE the goodness from those memories??? WELL, everyone changes, EVERYTHING changes, in fact the only thing that doesnt change is change itself. But just because something changes doesnt mean it nullifies choices you have made in the past. I dont know if you read my first comment as an attack, it wasnt meant that way, in fact I went out of my way to not write it like that, choosing my words carefully. BUT your comment was unduely harsh ... and I am slightly upset now, but as with everything else I do, I will get over it.
One last thing, if this is about you and your innocence, why would you bring other people in to it.
i personally think you should imbrace this new phase(i know its sad that i don't know excatly how to spell that word but anyway). yes you have grown up and you'll never get live your childhood over agian. thats something that i think everyone thinks at some point in their life when they get older. but just think, you're only 18. how old are your parents? don't you tihnk that they wished they had theire innocents back too?hell that's the reason why women lie about their age all the time. so look back on what you did, learn from your mistakes. and live the next 50 or so years of your life thy way you always thought you would. the past has allready happened so stop worring about it, live life for now , and for tree minoutes from now, becasue you never now when it'll end.
Well I guess I'll be throwing in my 2¢ now that I'm home.onedownJanuary 9 2006, 04:56:11 UTC
I agree that it is sad to watch friends lose their innocence, but it happens to almost everybody in time. People just don't stay kids forever. You shouldn't try to prevent yourself or others from changing, but you should try to help guide them as their friend, and prevent them from doing stupid shit

For the innocence I can no longer claim.
