Because you learned that you will be better off if you work within the system than from the outside.

There is a point when we realize that we don't have to fight tooth-and-nail every waking moment just to get by. If we don't resist, life is much easier and we find comforts and pleasures in other places.

Who we are changes from day-to-day. Just because you aren't who you were doesn't mean you can't be happy with the new you. It takes some getting used to.

If it weren't for your recent lack of happiness in your current station I would be inclined to agree that you had just grown into corporati Doug, and this is simply the culmination of you putting together the pieces in order to put money in your pocket. However.. you aren't you. You do not seem to feel happy with how you are represented in iconic form. The old garb was a way of saying something and in a small but signifigant way gave you your own uniform that defined all of that creativity and expression that was just screaming to get out. While not really "work appropriate" I think there is more room for self expression than wwe tend to give the grown-up world credit for. The hardest part is figuring out what any of it represents. By gaining a clear understanding of "who is Doug" you can better outline the style and true self of Doug rather than garish decorating. If it means you isolate your enhancement to a full back tattoo or whichever that gives you the freedom of keeping it corporate when it needs be or whipping it out on the ( ... )
