Completion: Incomplete
Cedric went over the last minute details, consulting a to-do list he'd drawn up last week. Old items, such as reserving a party room in the lower level of The Leaky and sending out invitations, were already marked off. Other items, such as the food, he was just putting the finishing touches to now. Funds had been limited, as he wasn't having much luck finding a job, so Cedric had done the catering himself. After a bit of negotiating, Tom agreed to let him use The Leaky's kitchen. As a means of thanks, Cedric had made a meal for the old bartender and his staff whilst cooking for the party. The baker/cook (once again, Tom was finding himself short a cook), housemaids, building attendant and other staff all seemed to enjoy it. Tom had an odd look on his face after taking his first bite, however. Cedric offered to fix him something else, worried that offending Tom's palette might cause the reversal of fees. Instead, Tom merely shook his head, saying that if Cedric fixed him another meal he'd drop the matter of the party favours. Cedric agreed, although he had the distinct impression that he was being watched the rest of the evening.
The next item on his list was the evening's entertainment. This had been a concern at first, as Cedric had never attended a bachelor party before. At a loss of how to plan one, he had sought out the advice of his cousin Angus. Thankfully, Angus had thrown a few and was therefore well-connected. He had a friend who entertained at such parties and had made all the arrangements, including designing the invitations (complete with
an amusing "contract"). Angus assured Cedric that he needn't concern himself with the details, and a fire talk with him just now had confirmed that everything was in order. With a deep sense of relief, Cedric crossed that item off his list.
That left him with minor concerns such as room arrangement, responsible transportation for inebriated guests, making sure their hired bartender had arrived, and such. Cedric went down the list, last-minute checking on everything. It all seemed in order. Now, all he had to do was wait for the guests to arrive.
