Books

Oh Morag, where did you get that dreadful list of books that was so bad you had to do your own? This one is much better (although it is still nonsense because Good Omens is not number one, even though everyone knows it wipes the floor with all other books ever written).

I got this from twinkem , who has read almost twice as many of these as I have, which ( Read more... )

I've read at least a dozen of those, just skimming through quickly in t'internet cafe, and I read at snails pace. Saying that, I do know one person who admitted to only reading three books since leaving school (they were our age). And have met various people throughout life who just don't read at all. Well, they quickly correct me by saying "I read magazines and stuff". Jolly good then. Where's my shotgun?

Do we think that it is just a bunch of all powerful publishers projecting their own clients onto the world, claiming them to be the top books for the last 20yrs? Me thinks so.

I have a friend who is a genius mathematician but never reads books, she just doesn't respond to fiction. Different strokes, you know.

Wait a second... You're posting from foreign places! How's it going over there?

I think quite a lot of people haven't read anything since school, which is sad as there's so many lovely things to read! Lots of people at work think it's a rather quaint thing to do...?

I suspect the list is derived from the top 100 best selling books over the past twenty years!

I had to go to Oldham once, for training, and it was like they had never seen anyone reading a book while on the bus, they were flabberghasted!

I agree that (of the few) you haven't read many are rubbish but no. 100 is excellent and worth reading!

I've read about 20 of them. Not impressed with all the Harry Potter on there, oh well.

Will be at Ara tonight woo! See you there, hopefully there'll be lots of tunes worth dancing to...
