Hehe...sounds like Rodney there. I like how you made the transition of Aiden from the Wraith drug to an earthly drug.

Well I didn't want to leave poor Aiden out of our AU, so knowing he demonstrated a weakness for addictive substances in the show I went from there.

If only our Aiden had been convinced to give it up *sigh*.

I'm still hoping that eventually they will make a sythentic version of whatever he's taking and be able to save him by dropping the dose increminatly. So he doesn't die during withdrawal and all that. Granted, I also had John having a realitive (a sister perhaps) who was studying Insect DNA in order to find a cure for Malaria and other insect carried diesases and she gets put to Atlantis and finds a solution to Aiden's problem by looking over Carson's notes and adding some of her own from her own research.

Aw! Poor Aiden. I really liked the details for this--Aiden's childhood, the bits on development, Rodney and physics and reaction times. As much as I enjoyed the earlier fluff, this is nice, too. And what's with the "Elizabeth began to seriously consider whether she could find a way round that whole “in sickness and in health” thing…"??? I thought they were just dating...

Oh they are. But my original end line of "Elizabeth began to wonder if there was a way to only be his girlfriend when he wasn't sick or injured" sounded a little...I dunno cruel. So I used the sickness and in health reference because it didn't sound as mean :p

Oh, that was really good! Rodney's banter when he was stabbed was so funny :D Poor guy! Aiden was excellent, really great characterisation, there. Well done to Carson, the reluctant hero!
