I started thinking about this after I responded to a few comments. I know my posting habits and interest level. Unless it's really hot and hopping, and my creativity is all over the place, there comes a point in time where I get tired of waiting for a reply to a post or a comment, get bored, lose interest and really have to force myself to reply ( Read more... )

I can wait about 48 hours... and I do have expectations. I play/have played a great deal of MU*s, which is literally sit in your seat and RP in real time. There are times when email RP is too slow!

That said, my biggest pet peeve is people not actually reacting! I wait, expecting people to react to, say, a slap, a push, a smile... and they don't. I keep waiting, expecting they will...

I'm much the same in that instant gratification does keep the muse going, so I end up being able to respond, since I get the mindset of my characters better if the story keeps moving...

But... there are some stories that just meander, and in those times I'm MORE than willing to let the other posters take their time, a week would really have been my answer, if it had been there.

While I do like to see things moving swiftly, I can be patient and take a while before I finally give up completely on a thread. While I would like to see responses within 24 hours, I have also been known to check threads for more then a week before giving up... I can't say it doesn't annoy me when it takes a long time, but as long as I eventually have something to read then I am usually good.
