safe schools for all children (an open letter to all who find this)

My five year old daughter is being bullied and picked on by her kindergarten classmates because she does not fit other peoples' idea of what a girl is. She appears slightly gender neutral and does not take part in the typical "girly" activities. She refuses to wear pink or dresses. No flowers. She prefers cargo pants and polo shirts. 1) you list the superintendent twice.
2) can you find the names that go with the emails? personalized emails work better
3) per your comment in my lj, you should include the problems your daughter is facing
4) and/or include a short text about what you'd like people to write

I emailed my usual florid appeal which ended with:
Make your schools places of learning where the students accept each other. As they go out into the world, they will meet all sorts of different people - if you can teach them tolerance, along with reading, writing, mathematics, science, history, language, etcetera, they will emerge from the Alameda schools ready to engage peacefully with others they meet in the world, and see similarities and common bonds rather than just differences. They will truly be educated.

Thank you for your deep consideration, and I hope that you will see your way clear to adopt the Safe Schools curriculum. It is important. This is not just politics, this is people's pain, this is creating peace.

no i haven't heard from them yet. i saw on the site that they were supposed to decide today i think. i'm going to visit with the principal today so hopefully she can let me know. thanks for your support in this. it helps a lot.

it looks like the final decision will be made in may.

there is some more info there and community response emails (including yours and a portion of my own) but there are a lot opposing it as well. it's hard to read.
