Paid LiveJournal accounts

Apr 18, 2024 01:01

I'm very frustrated by the fact that, presumably due to anti-Russian sanctions, I am presently unable to renew my paid LiveJournal account. Although I can still post as normal, I am unable to upload any more photos to the LJ Scrapbook as I long ago exceeded the upload-quota for free accounts. This also means that I am unable to reorganise my ( Read more... )

I have a paid account, have had for years and earlier this year, couldn't renew it, make a payment or anything. I have gone back to using my default userpics and they aren't the ones I want to use but I am stuck. I want my pick of userpics. I am quite frustrated.

I don't think I'd used up my quota of userpics, but I've no doubt I'd be pretty frustrated if I'd lost access to some due to the situation with the payments. I too have had paid accounts for most of the twenty-odd years I've been on LiveJournal. I probably shouldn't say this in case it tempts LJ to increase its prices, but I think $25-a-year isn't an unreasonable amount to pay for the service provided. I'm just frustrated that I can't upload anything to the Scrapbook, as posting photos is a large part of my motivation for using LiveJournal.

I have a friend who has been buying my yearly subscription.. yet i've seen your problem with a few of my friends here in LJ! Hopefully there will be news of this with the birthday of LJ this week!! What my friends have done is write a letter to LJ and let them know about the problem. From what i see that has happened to friends is that LJ extends their accounts at least by 6 months!!

Good Luck!!

I wish I knew someone who could pay my subscription for me!

I mentioned this issue with being unable to make payments in my journal previously, and someone suggested contacting LiveJournal and asking for a paid account extension as you've said. I had received several automatic paid account extensions previously, but they seem to have stopped doing that now. I need to find out who to contact and what I need to say.

Option that's not on your poll, which I've done several years in a row now: try to make the payment, it won't go through, and then I contact LJ support, tell them that, and they give me another year of "paid" account for free.

Yes, this is what I have done since this conflict began.

This is what I've done as well. It's annoying though bc i want more userpics and i currently can't add anymore. But they usually renew the stuff i already have. I've also had my account for a really long time so...

I'm not so much bothered about userpics, but it's very frustrating to me that I can't upload anything to the Scrapbook or reorganise the albums while I'm stuck with a free account. I've been linking to a free Flickr account for the duration, but Flickr has a limit of 1,000 photos with free accounts, so that's not a long-term solution.

If LJ grants me a paid account extension while I'm unable to make a payment, will I still be unable to upload photos to the Scrapbook?
