I FINISHED DEATHLY HALLOWS!!

So Friday, I worked until 4, and took at two hour nap, and at night night, I went to Borders, and I picked up the book, and I read it until 7 am, at which point I had three Red Bulls in me but I still really really needed to sleep as I had to work at ten.

every time something remotely dirty was said

i thought of you.

you smiling slasher, you.

god, M, i really didn't think you had pity for the tragic character whose life was ruled by for-the-most-part unrequited love. i am proud of you. of course, it made me want to go...hang out...with Snape pronto and be like I'LL BE YOUR FRIEND CAUSE YOU TALK COOL AND DRESS COOLER AND ARE DARK AND BROODING AND A GREAT LIAR!! and i wouldn't have called him a stupid nickname like "Sev" either.

sadly i'll never get the chance.

they really hit the reader over the head with preachy statements and blatent historical references though. save the obviousness for the movies, eh, JKR?

epilogue was a huge no-no. goddamn. hated it. i've NEVER been a fan of Harry and Ginny. HIS BEST FRIEND'S LITTLE SISTER.

and um Hermione and Ron was a good fling, as it's been expected for a while, but i could't have forseen a marriage there. just saying.

SNAPE COME BACK EFFIING A I MISS YOU!!!

I didn't catch much dirty slasherness. Was there some? I must have been far too tired.

Epilogue, lol. All I really have to say is, "Albus Severus"?! WTF, Ginny, letting your husband name your son something like that.

I thought Malfoy Manor was fitting. It is pretty much like that in every fanfic, but that's what I thought it would be like in the books, anyway, so I didn't really mind, you know?

Justin. As usual, of course, there was not nearly enough Hufflepuff love. Not that I really minded, stupid Hufflepuffs...

I felt like we all pretty much took R.A.B. being Regulus for granted, by this point. But she did still manage to surprise us (or at least me) with how he turned good and the whole story with Kreacher, which was good.

THANK YOU. I hate the Ship-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named so much, there are no words. I thought, when I realized that they were going to stay together at the beginning of DH, that maybe they'd give me at least one reason to think that they'd be good together, but no. It was all him trying to abandon her, and her getting randomly pregnant and having a little Stu of a baby, and her running stupidly after him and then they both went and got themselves killed ( ... )
