Mello's been here a long time, and a good portion of that time hasn't been entirely kind to him. And so, on his birthday this year, the Hotel seems finally to decide to give him a little bit of kindness-- or at least the illusion of it, in any case

It seemed he was drunk. His head was swimming and he had to stop several times to lean against the walls of the hallway. During one of these breaks, he came to enough to realize that he was not, as he had originally thought, in his mansion, but in some entirely different place. Why would he be here? Vague memories of that day at the beach when he'd walked aimlessly into a love hotel. What had that girl said? That you could never leave?

As he began making his way down the hallway again, his hand found a handle, and without thinking, he opened the door and walked in.

There was no one in the room. Mello found this odd, but maybe he'd been supposed to bring someone--? He'd just been taking a little tour of the suite, after having turned some proper lights on, and was about to call for someone desirable to join him when the door suddenly burst open.

Mello turned with a start, and couldn't help but stare in some surprise. Now there was a face he hadn't seen in ages. Though, of course, there was never a guarantee around here that it was the one he used to know.

"Kaiba?"

((OOC: Aww, Kaiba. Mello's hurt you've forgotten him~ ))

He glanced up and blearily gazed at the other man in the room. From what he could tell, it was a fairly pretty guy. Well, on second thought, maybe not so pretty. Even if he'd been completely sober, he wouldn't have been able to keep from staring at the burns down the side of the other's face. "Huh? You know me?" he slurred.

And Mello paused, eying Kaiba with some confusion.

"I know someone very much like you," he admitted. It was possible this was a duplicate, after all. He hadn't seen Kaiba around in a long while.
