I cooked something

A while back a friend put out a challenge to provide her with good southern style biscuits. Well, finally getting off my butt, I decided to accept this challenge. While this may sound strange to you, biscuits intimidate me. I have never before made a decent biscuit unless it came out of a cardboard tube. The other option, of course, is to CALL here some Sunday morning when you are feeling hungry, and ask what TMB is cooking - it's usually something really good.

That would depend upon what is leftover. You never know what came out of the oven a day or two before. Bagettes, Brioche, and Croissant make good french toast, biscuits demand gravy. Not much that I am willing to do with mushroom soup for breakfast, but left over quiche is always good. If I can ever find that recipe, cornmeal buttermilk pancakes also are tasty.

Ohhh I have a couple of Alton Brown's books. I actually have a cookbook collection of sorts. Next time you want a base recipe to go off of, give me a call or email me and I'll see what I have lurking around.

Next try with the recipe I am using is with a bigger cutter, and not baking as long. But at least these were edible. I am probably making my next try on Thursday, as biscuits always go well with a Thanksgiving feast.
