Holy Mole

I found a great recipe for meatballs a few weeks ago, but the sauce that was recommended was not to my taste. But I thought that since the flavor profile of the meatballs was sort of southwestern, I would try making a mole to go with them. I searched the net, and found a recipe very similar to this. Um...you didn't actually use the Turkey Legs.

And next time, keep the raisons (d'etre?), but leave out the raisins - they are squishy and weird.

Actually, for me the raisins didn't turn out squishy and weird at all when I diluted and pureed the mole with a stick blender. Leaving raisins out would probably significantly affect the flavor and the sweetness of the sauce, as there are an awful lot of rasins in the recipe, even still if you used only half of what's called for. However, I'm sure that omission could be compensated for, maybe by simply adding a bit of white or brown sugar.

I might reduce the raisins and increase the plantains, or perhaps find another not too sweet starchy mass to replace some of the raisins. It is a bit sweet.
