So, today I discovered an event that degrades women. Two football teams of women, running around playing football (obviously) in nothing but panties, bras, skimpy nighties, and the like. How is this any different than porno? It's on a pay per view channel, like porno. It's directed at men, like porn. I think the entire point of it is to be porn, and if that is the case, how is that any more degrading than the regular stuff?

Besides, every Lifetime movie is degrading and sexist toward men. It's just women making men into unconditionally sweet, romantic, sensitive guys that are impossible standards for men to live up to. According to these movies, guys are supposed to anticipate a girls' every whim, be apologetic even when it's not their fault, and shower them with undying affection and make everything all better.

Women deserve equal pay, and to not be blamed in rape/sexual harassment suits, and to have a say in their own reproductive rights. Girls playing football in lingerie, of their own free will? We have bigger fish to fry.

I gotta side with Jaded on this one he/she hit the nail on the head.

Yes it's degrading to have Lingerie football but on the flip side every guy in those lifetime movies who is NOT demonized or vilified is gay. I don't mean your normal run of the mill guy thats gay. I mean your flamingly, fabulous annoying over the top gay guy.

It is best to ignore it and find bigger things.

My Sociology Professor made a comment a few semesters ago that you reminded me of. She said "Who is in Power? The Stripper Or the person going to the Strip club?" Some women feel empowered to be viewed as sexy and desirable by men and enjoy the attention. Strippers can be in control of the customer. But most don't enjoy it....they do it for the money in which case the customer is in control then.

Now the whole Male Chauvinist thing you mentioned a few posts ago....yeah, that's degrading. Lingerie Bowl is soft core porn and those girls probably are very proud to be in it.
