Dee took the dish rag, following Trudy to the first table and wiped all the stray water off of it's top, watching as the damp streaks that were left behind faded away. She found this simple task of cleaning to be sort of relaxing - a nice change from chasing down vandals and hooligans out on the streets of the City. A task that would've been much more easier if Lex wasn't so interested in keeping himself entertained elsewhere instead of doing his job. Vaguely, she wondered how Lex had managed to get back his position of Sheriff, and shoved her back down to Deputy. Once upon a time, when she had first come to the Mall and left the Mozzies, she had looked up to Lex. But now, she saw his flaws, for they were out in the open like an unbandaged wound exposed to the air. In the back of her mind, she made a mental note to speak with Salene about that once the business involving whatever that commotion earlier was over ( ... )

Trudy half listened to what Dee was saying, picking up on keywords and phrases when she could, like, Lex has been somewhat scarce when it comes to his duties, giving a slight snort in response, wasn't that always the way Lex was? Only if it pleased and suited him, he was a terrible little man, but sometimes, in certain situations, he was exactly the person you wanted to have around, unfortunately ( ... )
