[Bran is settled on a pile of rubble, legs folded under him, he's tuning an acoustic guitar. Leaned over the instrument, his face is intent and gentle, he hums a little when he's finished and settles back to look at the PCD. Sunlight shines on his hair and face, making him look strangely even younger.]Whether or not death is permanent here, whether ( Read more... )

Alright... Something to appeal to the to the younger generation.

[He strums his fingers over the keys, switching through a few chords thoughtfully, before settling on one.]

How touching.

You're pretty good at this!

Hmm, can you play Swim! Taiyaki-kun?

[Just a friendly smile in response.]

That's one I haven't heard in nearly two decades. I can indeed.

[He strums the opening notes and hums.] My Japanese is rusty but I'll give it a shot, unless you want the English version?

[video; just for this, Kabuto respects him now. xD] schoolboysmile September 5 2009, 02:45:05 UTC
[Kabuto was taken by surprise by Bran's reply and that shock certainly hadn't lessened its effect, even as he records his reponse.]

I wasn't even expecting you to recognize it, much less be able to play it!

Nobody ever seems to know what I'm talking about if I ever mention it.

[a polite smile and he tilts his head to a side]

Whichever you're more comfortable with, though it'd be great to hear it in Japanese. I'm grateful either way.

[Bran's response is a laugh.] It's a little obscure, but it was a hit, once. My tastes are a bit esoteric, I admit.

[He returns the smile and nods, strumming the opening notes once again.] Alright, forgive me if my accent is terrible then, feel free to laugh.

[He launches into singing Oyoge! Taiyaki-kun, and his accent is a little bad, but understandable.]

Accoustic guitars have a pleasant sound to them.

That they do. Are you a musician, or just a music lover?

Lovely. Though I believe a majority of the city will say he deserved such a fate.

No, it is not. And it is not for me to say whether he deserved it or not.

Nor is it my call, in this matter. A life was lost. If he returns or not, he will be missing something.

All things have a price.

Except song. May I play something for you?

We're safer while he's down. That's the simple of it.

Perhaps. But a man still lost his life, no matter how evil. Or not.

But that's the way of things. Life comes and goes--but we should never be jaded to its going.

Can I play something for you, Tenten?

[A friendly smile and a strum of the strings.]

[Tenten looks down for a moment. Her face is solemn when she looks up.]

It doesn't change how many have lost their lives because of him, and for good back home, instead of just a few days here.

I didn't recognize either of those, and you're not from my world... Um. Anything you would like to play, Bran.

[She gives him a partial smile.]

[Video] Obviously... With a male voice. the_marrok September 5 2009, 03:11:14 UTC
[Bran responds to the solemnity by being serious himself.]

I understand that Tenten. By no means do I mean to make light of anyone's losses. Or weigh one more heavily than any others.

Sometimes it is better that certain people die. Sometimes those people are evil. Sometimes they aren't, but their deaths benefit many for one reason or another.

All right... Something for you...

[He leans back, closing his eyes and tilting his head to the sun.]

I think I have it.

[He starts to play.]
