i chose a different layout. i'm not sure if i like it quite yet, but i was sick of the other one. when i have more ambition, perhaps i should create one with my html skillz circa 1996.

Pretty, pretty new colors. Your html skills should be well up to the task of tinkering a layout. Mine are, and well, I don't really have any. (not that we freebie accounts are allowed to do much tinkering) You're welcome to borrow my cool HTML circa 2003 book if you want to refresh/read up on style sheets.

Retail propaganda aside, Christmas is not about spending dollars. Especially dollars one does not have. Cookies are always cool presents, and they're therapeutic as well. All that mixing and beating and scooping..... ;)

Free fun things: the Chicago Cultural Center (old Chicago Library) is one of the coolest buildings in downtown, all kinds of architecutral pretties and paintings and a gallery or two inside, and it's totally free to go hang out. They even have live music there most weekdays.
