Okay, so! Rikku had snagged a suite! One with champagne and a bubble bath and now? And now, she just had to wait for her favorite Turk ever. Because he was awesome and hot and fun and she hadn't seen him in aaaaaaages. Okay, it was like three weeks, but that was entirely too long to go without her Reno-person ( Read more... )

Reno... kinda felt like hot, sick ass. Possibly it was breakfast rebelling on him, and that would be the last time he ever ate at the inn in Kalm again. Or else it was... other shit.

Either way, by some miracle, he'd managed to navigate his way to the hotel, find out what room he was in, and even make his way up to said room. Via the stairs, thank you.

And then he was going to enter the room.

And now he was going to blink tiredly at the Rikku who was on the bed. And work on a smile.

"Hey, babe."

"Heyyyy," she grinned, taking another swig of her drink -- and doing a total spit-take when she actually looked up at him and saw his face.

"Sorry!" Do not drop the glass of champagne, Rikku. Setting it down, scrambling off the bed, and pulling the little shirt-thing around herself like she wasn't laying around half-naked. Really.

"I, uh, I started without you! Just, you know, thought that maybe you'd -- it was supposed to be funny and -- you'd --"

This? This was a massive tackleglomp. He might need air, in a few minutes, but he could hold his breath.

He could. He could hold it for a ridiculously long amount of time. Which was very useful when there were Rikkus afoot, and he was feeling like crap, and apparently looking about the same.

"Missed you, too," he replied, wrapping his arms around her in turn. Sometimes even Renos needed a good hug. "S'okay, zoto."

"I have the worst timing," she grumbled. "If I had showed up late, all cranky, you'd be having an awesome day and wishing I was here looking sexy. You know? Maybe if I show up in something boring and drab, that'll mean you're having a good day, yeah?"

Not letting go just yet. Not even close to letting go, yet.

"What happened?" she asked. "Or is it a ... is this a 'let's talk about it' or an 'I don't want to talk about it' or a good old 'it's everything but I'm mostly kinda blah and there's nothing TO talk about'? Sometimes those are the worst. People get weird if you say you're having a bad day and don't have a good reason for it."

This did not happen to her very often, granted.
