Hahaha, wow, I don't think I've seen such a meticulous, accurate, and powerful rant since my mother, an Anne Rice fan, watched "Queen of the Damned." (Or, in much, much earlier years, my reading the Jurassic Park books, then seeing the films... big disappointments were had.) Well done, sir!
And yes, actually I was wondering where you'd gotten to. Just kind of wrote this period of inactivity off as you being a person who updates once in a great while. :) Still, it's good to see you back here on this corner of teh Interwebz.
Oh, good. I was afraid I would be run out on a pole for my very vigorous feelings on certain things. I'm glad you agree. You do bring up a point, the movie adaptation of Interview with the Vampire was actually not that bad. Ah, well.
I just sort of fell off the LJ wagon for a bit. Just didn't feel like getting around to getting back on it. Fell a bit out of fandom and everything as well. Making a comeback, though. Now I've got Classic Doctor Who to make me completely stupid and useless :D
This makes me immensely glad I've only seen the first three HP movies. I could forgive most of LotR (well, except what they did to Faramir), but this just sounds ridiculous.
And cosigned on Mos Def. I had forgotten about Adams' description, but even aside from that, he played the role too much like a normal human being, and not, y'know, a thoroughly awkward alien.
Oh GOD. I forgot about Faramir (with good reason, as all the upset-fangirl that went into the writing of this post is nothing compared to my complete outrage over Faramir. Oh no, now I'm thinking about it and becoming outraged all over again. Damn them). The was a complete change of plot point, and Important Characterization, but it was still a good movie, even if I get all useless rage during that part. The Harry Potters, however, are just becoming more and more crap. I'm still debating with myself whether I'll grit my teeth and subject myself to the last two or not.
Yeah, he was too ~cool~ and while reading the books, I thought Ford was the hoopiest frood (after Zaphod, but I have a massive soft spot for narcissists) out there, he would still be all... I don't know, but I agree. Mos Def made him seem a little too put together.
