Yeah...that pretty sums up my current feelings about the JJ Abrams!verse.

I prefer the original timeline.

I wrote an entire ranty reply and LJ just swallwoed it. Probably for the best. But the tl;dr version is that JJA either just doesn't get what ST/Kirk is supposed to be about, or he doesn't care, and I'm not sure which is worse.

Back in 2013, JJ Abrams told Jon Stewart that he didn't even like Star Trek. He felt it was "too philosophical."

In my opinion, that's not the kind of a guy you choose to reboot a franchise.
