Ummm...Looks like the chinchilla can't be named Otto anymore. We have to call it Ottoline, now.

Everyone, Otto's pregnant. O.O;

Sweeeeet! Baby Chincillas!

You could do what I was going to do when I thought my rat was preggers. Keep a male from the litter and find a good home for mommy and the babies.

I will never give Ottoline away. When the babies come and are old enough I'll probably sell them to a good pets store.

O.o Yeep. Lemme guess, you just got her from the pet store and they didn't seperate their pocket pets by sex.

Got any experience with baby chins? I think LJ has some groups devoted to chinchilla raising.

Oh, and when they're born: pictures, please? O.O *squee*

Actually, if you go back a couple entries you'll see how I aquired her. And there had been a second chinchilla, a white male, sharing the cage with Ottoline. Which at the time everyone thought was male. o.O

Meep! Oh man. Instead you end up with a wealth of little fuzzballs!

(Makes me want to do a cartoon of Ock babysitting a roomful of hyperactive baby Chins...)

Ooooh, when are the Ottolets due or hasn't the vets told you yet.

Their not sure yet. I live right next to a vets office but they normally don't treat pocket pets. So the vet is consulting with a more informed animal doctor.

Not yet. They have a longer pregnancy than some rodents, about 2 1/2 monthes I think. But she is a little chubbier. ^^
