I think that the legalizations of marijuana would be one more reason for me to move to Canada. I believe that it's the only drug that isn't actually harmful. I've dabbled in it years ago. I never once had a "bad high". The worst it does is make you excessively hungry. I don't believe that it's a "gateway drug", as the government likes to tell you. I never did any other drug. I never had the urge to do any other drug. If someone decides to try a more caustic substance, it's of their own volition.
In conclusion, marijuana is not a drug. It is a plant that, when dried and smoked, produces a drug. The plant itself is not harmful. The drug it produces, THC, is nothing more than a relaxant.
However, these are the words of someone who is going by experience, not facts. My words are based solely on my experimentation in high school.

The thing about drugs is... the people who are doing them now are pretty much the same people who would do them if they were legal. What people don't realize is they are preventing nothing by putting a law on it. Criminal pathology doesn't stop and consider the reprecussions of getting caught... and the people who choose to follow the law, and not do drugs, probably wouldn't do them if they were legal. At most they might try them once. Legalize it, I'm for it, because I think things will blow out of proportion for a while, then everybody will go back to their normal life, and forget about the whole thing.

But then, I'm a minority- I believe the government should be run by people who don't really want the job, and who are smarter than I. Let those who like pot to dabble - they will anyway, and let the governement move on to more important things.

Some honest comments from a Singaporean?

Seriously, the ppl who smoke marijuana are gonna do it legalized or not.. So why not legalize the whole issue at least there's a form of control?

1. Pple can get it off counters where store owners can refuse sales to minors. (yah i know it's silly cos it's never 100% foolproof)

2. Since it can be bought off counter, it MIGHT keep peddlers off the streets.

3. It's a source of revenue for the canadian gov. *wink*

Come to think of it, it's like smoking and buying cigarettes. It's legalized but i don't see the whole world puffing away... My 2 cents worth. : )

This is more a comment on the most recent entry, but I thought if you were going to delete it, you can delete this too.

I think I might have a little idea of how you feel, and even if I don't I can understand the feelings that would lead you to write that and say you don't really want ppl to comment..

But that inspite of that, I think you could benefit from talking to someone who isn't even remotely involved. I can give you my email, if you feel comfortable with that - and if not, I won't take it personally. Either way, I wish you the best, as always
