Hypocrisy of christianity

Jan 18, 2007 00:58

My family are all christian practitioners to one extent or another. All firmly believe in a heaven. Without a doubt, by the tenants of their faith, my Grandma is now going to be in this post mortem paradise of theirs. Had she survived this ordeal, with half a bowel and two disks removed from her back, she could hardly have had the quality of life ( Read more... )

Religion is hypocrisy.

People dont actually belive in the teachings but use it as a bolster to their own moral ideals ie. "I do bad things but I am a *follower of religion* so it doesnt matter as I will get my reward in *afterlife* because I go to *place of worship* and it is forgiven" its all lunatic.

Anything that asks people to be nice to each other to get a reward at some nominal point (usually after they die) rather than doing it because it makes the world a nicer and more barable place is avarice (doing something to obtain something else or Greed) which is outlined in most of the major religions and a few of the minor ones as an unforgivable sin. The fact that people also use the "I am a *follower of religion* so I am a better person than you", argument is also ludicrous.

Twats :)

I find it suprising when people are overly upset when old people who are clearly no longer having a good time of it die. they're upset for themselves not for the person.
I'm not sure it's an extension of their religion - more an insight into the type of minds that need to bolster themselves with religion. (oo controversial - I hope I don't start a fight on your live journal...)

be sad that you'll miss them but glad that their time was well spent and their suffering is now over.
