People dont actually belive in the teachings but use it as a bolster to their own moral ideals ie. "I do bad things but I am a *follower of religion* so it doesnt matter as I will get my reward in *afterlife* because I go to *place of worship* and it is forgiven" its all lunatic.
Anything that asks people to be nice to each other to get a reward at some nominal point (usually after they die) rather than doing it because it makes the world a nicer and more barable place is avarice (doing something to obtain something else or Greed) which is outlined in most of the major religions and a few of the minor ones as an unforgivable sin. The fact that people also use the "I am a *follower of religion* so I am a better person than you", argument is also ludicrous.
Twats :)

be sad that you'll miss them but glad that their time was well spent and their suffering is now over.
