Well, I know that becoming a teacher I'm basically surrendering to a 7-4 schedule everday, but I'm okay with that. I'm comfortable with it. But I don't consider myself a by the book person though even if I'll be in a by the book job. I don't really like that statement from post secret because I think people should do what makes them happy with the people they love, and for some people that might be a life that's by the book. .

A job with a schedule doesn't necessarily mean a by the book life, though... There are things outside of one's profession that can make life more than just by the book. But I don't feel like most people are really doing that. It seems to me like people end up going to work every day and then just coming home and being too tired to do anything else, which ends up trapping people into a monotonous life. Just because someone has a job with a schedule, though, doesn't mean they're necessarily living a by the book life.

But, anyway, the reason this resonates with me is because while I agree that people should do whatever makes them happy, a 'by the book life', the way I perceive it, wouldn't make me happy, because that's just who I am. I'm sick of the life I've seen my parents and other adults I know live... I can't live that way. So. Blah. That's why I posted that... because that's how I feel. I think that I, being the kind of person I am, need something... different, maybe. I dunno what's going to make me happy, but living the way i've ( ... )
