Did you really think that disclaimer would stop me from reading this?! ;)

What killed me about the first linked post was where s/he said "I haven't read it, nor do I need or intend to." Then in the reply to Gary's comment said "I personally read the entries in question, pal."

It made me LOL.

The disclaimer is there for people with better things to do, not for you. I know better.

Yeah, he was acting on information he didn't have on behalf of someone he didn't know and acting self-righteous about it!

Then there was the bit where he said I had to stop doing what he was doing himself - he reminds me of Kim Jong-il.

Also LOL-worthy is that Mr. "Drama-Free" is involved in teh drama! ;)

Doesn't it seem like that whole crowd usually is?

Thank the gods I'm a (relatively) disinterested observer. It really sucks that there will never be any group endeavor - particularly on the internets - that will be immune to this nonsense. LJ Idol seemed like good, clean fun -- how the hell did it generate so much drama?

FWIW, I think some people aren't happy unless they've loosed rabid squirrel monkeys on everyone else's party.

Poor monkeys get a bad reputation.

I have my suspicions about how it got to this point, and I think that if there is a fourth season it will be even worse, but there's nothing I can do about it.

No one wants to take our advice about the contest, so we may as well just give up. I only hope that your Mrs. can disentangle herself from it at the end of this run.

I can, and I will. Whether it's today or at the end of the season remains to be seen.

According to what I have been told, farmishtasshole was told about this week's special judging by someone who thought it was interesting and fun, and that he would enjoy reading it. He found the critique and subsequent comments on deyaniera's entry on his own.

That doesn't excuse any of what came afterwards, but I did want to clarify that part.

I never intended for this to turn into a discussion, I hope you realize, but left it unlocked so we wouldn't be accused of talking behind their backs.

But if he was only told that much and found the rest on his own, how does that jibe with the "I haven't read it, nor do I need or intend to" bit?

I'm here to amuse.

By the way, my bookmark to your other stuff doesn't work lately - did something change?

LJ stuff is the same, except I'm slowly altering all posts to be friends only - which is tedious and will likely never happen as I can't bulk edit the posts. But that wouldn't affect you since you're friended anyway.

My real stuff is at http://www.lorienjohnson.com
Blog is at http://notes.lorienjohnson.com

Used to be at www.perjink.org , which is where I'm now keeping the journals of friends whom I host online.

I bulk edited all my posts to be friends only a couple of months ago. I shall attempt to remember how I accomplished that and get back to you.
