Did I mention I didn't like Wells Fargo?

We received the paperwork yesterday to unhook our bank account from the loan we have with them which we can't pay principle on via their on-line method. Paperwork is signed and already in the mail. And this morning I got an e-mail from Wells Fargo telling me that I *really* do need to stop paper statements and go with an on-line method with them ( Read more... )

Wow. I am so sympathetic to all of the troubles you described, but especially with Wells Fargo. My condo mortgage was sold to Wells Fargo within months of my home purchase, and they pissed me off too. Wells Fargo is a powerhouse here, and we bought our current home through a small mortgage company that does not sell 90% of its mortgages, just to keep it out of the hands of Wells Fargo. (It has worked -- they don't have it yet.)

I am stunned that they discontinued online principal paying. I'm sorry it's going to be so hard to finance with someone else :(.

Echo, we thought that since Bear's company was with a financial institution, they wouldn't steer us wrong with the program they had to get us a mortgage.. We were so wrong. :( I had never dealt with Wells Fargo before so I was willing to give them a shot.. This has really left a bad taste in my mouth though.. The good part is that with the financial crisis, the bank is still around, however the bad news is that they're still around because they're cut throat theives. We'll never deal with them again, that's for certain..

As for the principle payments, it actually doesn't surprise me that they've done it considering their business practices, for it's getting more money into their pockets. It's more surprising that they're using the excuse that it's due to the amount of fraud that they've had on the website as to why they're taking it off.
