To the creation team behind the Stardust Movie:

Did you even read the material your movie was supposed to be based on? Or did some producer just tell you you were making a movie about a comic book, which you found to be far to original to merit faithful production? You, good sirs, have made a travesty out of one of the few remaining traditional and whimsical fairy tales. You should be ashamed.

You are joking, right? If not, you must have seen a different movie than I did. I thought it was fantastic and, while it may not have followed the book religiously, stayed astonishingly faithful to the storyline and characters. Plus, it was beautiful and well-done as a movie. What makes you call it a "travesty"?

I honestly felt like the entire feeling of the village of wall got left behind by the production. There was no small town close knit feel about it. Victoria's character was completely changed, and where the hell did that lordly guy she was with come from? The best part of the book in my opinion was not the adventure, but the idea that a town could exist in which farie and the real world interacted in a perfectly natural way. The whimsical fairy tale of the book was replaced with a cliche romantic comedy that just happened to be in a fantasy setting. The only parts that I found to be enjoyable was the interaction of the Brothers and the introduction of Robert DeNiro's character. Honestly, if I wanted to see a movie that was just the same old fantasy adventure story, I'd go watch The Princess Bride again, as it was a much better movie anyway.
