I suppose that by breathingI am depriving someone else of a perfectly good whiff of air. There's probably a miner trapped somewhere who could use it more than me, but so far that universal selfishness is working well towards the good of all. The problem with communism is that it is meant to be a transitional state between a government in which the proletariat is subjugated to a state of anarchy. Unfortunately, after a proletariat revolt the workers find themselves quite suddenly in power and make the natural human response. They panic and give the power to someone else, generally the first person who makes the best sounding promises and wants leadership. Now, if they completed the transition to a state of anarchy that would demand giving up supreme executive power which they usurped from the masses for a reason, generally because of some form of megalomania. Now the only way to make sure they stay in power is to keep the masses from revolting again (through either Trotskyist or the less favorable Stalinist) while making sure that not
