that one time when I sang Nine In The Afternoon in front of Panic! at the Disco and I DIDN'T DIE

Just so you know, you're my hero FOREVER AND EVER. I never would have been brave enough to do something like this, and I'm pretty sure that you would've killed it the karaoke thing had happened. Thanks for sharing, bb!

I feel like I should build you a statue or something. A bedazzled one :p.

Oh, I was scared out of my mind, but I just knew that I would hate myself forever if I didn't at least try. And I had my sister with me, that helped quite a bit.

You are SO BRAVE. From the comfort of many hundreds of miles away, I was thinking of all the songs that I could sing that might be in my range and that I knew the words to, thinking how cool it would be to sing in front of Panic!, but in reality? I think I would have chickened out. Very cool that you gave it a shot!

I don't really understand the part about the click tracks -- didn't the people who actually ended up singing have to have those, too? I don't get it. But it's too bad, whatever the case.

And it cracks me up that it was scarier to sing for Zack than it was for the band. I totally get that. ;-)

The thing about the click tracks was that the people who ended up singing were all from the other bands that performed, so they already had their own in-ear monitors.

Then again, they got so much flak almost immediately on Facebook and Twitter about the karaoke thing("we paid to see the band, not a bunch 13-year-old fans singing stupid karaoke!"), that it's entirely possible they just decided not to use us and made up any excuse they could think of to let us down lightly.

Oh, that makes sense.

As does the part about letting you down easy. They're not known for listening to opinions regarding their plans, but it's a possibility.

I also read a Tumblr thing from someone who also auditioned who claimed it was a contractual thing with the radio station -- like, only professionals were allowed onstage, or something? -- but I don't know if it's true, or not. If there's one thing I've learned about Tumblr, it's not to trust what most people say. :/

I don't think that can be it, because they did have the one girl - Ash, who sang I Write Sins - and she wasn't a professional. I mean, she has her own band, but it wasn't one of the bands performing that day.
