It was another cool Fall night in New York but Elena barely felt the chill as she stood over the body at her feet with a soft frown on her face. She could still hear his heartbeat, so she knew he wasn't dead but his heart seemed to be struggling to keep steady and that troubled her. After everything that had gone down, getting her out of Mystic Falls had seemed the best plan, at least for a bit. And blending in was easier in the City.
He glanced at the guy, hearing his heartbeat, the struggle of it, and mentally shrugged. It wasn't like he cared much about the random stranger, but he knew it probably would upset her. "It would've been kinder just to finish him off, you know."

Glancing down at the guy, she frowned. "You know I hate killing." She muttered though she didn't quite say it with the same indignation that she used to about a year before. Still, he was right. Leaving the guy to struggle for his life was unkind.
"Can I give him a bit of blood?" She tried, glancing up at Damon.

"And what if he gets mugged and shot on the way home? Or hit by a cab? People die in this City everyday, Elena. How would we even find him if he ended up waking up at the morgue? Then what?"
Mostly, he was just opposed to giving out blood to strangers. They weren't angels of mercy.

It would be better than taking the chance of him being changed.
Still, it was harder this time than the first time she bit him but she did. This time she fed from his wrist, drinking slowly even when she wanted to rush. It caused him to relax slowly, to sink under the heavy weight of blood loss that made him fall asleep moments before he would slip away entirely.
Standing up, she listened for the last struggling beat of his heart, the soft sigh of Death, and then she knew he was gone. She still felt bad but it was better this way. Still....
"What do we do with his body now?"
