The day was beautiful and the way was beautiful. Ha! You have to have a certain kind of misspent youth to know where that comes from. But Spring! I'm writing this in one of those rare moments where the sunlight hits my bedroom wall, watching a bumblebee meandering through the blossom. A blue-tit is feasting on the fat ball that hangs from my

Doctor Who threw me off at the start: the new music upsets me.
You and 99% of the other viewers - it seems to be the one, constant complaint. I'm beginning to get used to it though, so who knows? Maybe we'll all love it by the end? OTOH I *adore* all the other music. I want the soundtrack now.
I am too much a fan of food to see it spurned
I think that bit is the girls' favourite. Impish Girl, especially, has been very suspicious of The New Doctor (only Tennant will do), but the food scene won her over. "Beans are evil. Bad bad beans." ::cue delighted laughter:: (Also they wrote him [Matt Smith] letters, which are now in his trailer - long story, I'll explain later if you're curious - and that made them quite excited to be honest.)
Anyway, love everything you wrote - you have such a fantastic way with words - and have nothing to add really. Not that that'll stop me...
Theirs should be such a loaded dynamic: the lifetime he owes her; the centuries they stand apart, her lifespan barely ( ... )

Hee, until they danced Graham Norton across the screen on Saturday. ;) I think the music is growing on me. I don't find those opening chords quite as jarring as I did, at least.

I *loved* your description of Pooh & co finding out what Tiggers eat - it may have singlehandedly reconciled me to it. And how exciting about the letters in the trailer! Three little fangirls in the making - I can't think where they get that from. ;)
The Eleven/Amy dynamic works beautifully on both the counts you mention, and has a firm hold on me already.
Moffat's description of Eleven: Patrick Moore trapped in the body of an underwear model
HEE! That's inspired. Although unfortunately, I get a visual of Patrick Moore in underwear, which is never going to be a good look for any kind of time travelling superhero.

Hee! Like my late Dad who used to try to grow from seed but every year they failed and he ended up at the nursery buying new plants. Sending along good seedling vibes.

Growing from seed is definitely something with wildly varying results, and I know all about that trip to the nursery when things don't go to plan! A few years back I had a hugely successful chilli crop (we are still eating them four years on) but every year since I have tried to grow peppers, and ended up having to buy the plants instead. But this year the peppers are looking more hopeful, so you never know!

ELEVEN HAS SHOULDERS. So true...so true.

I know! The promise of Ashes to Ashes gets me through the week at work, and then just when I am wondering how I can possibly survive a whole week until the next installment, along come Eleven and Amy. I feel quite ridiculously spoilt.
sometimes I just watch the bread-throwing with the "...And stay out!" complete with a yowling cat just to give myself a giggle fit
Hee! Comedy cat noises do, I think, make everything better.
I LOVE the way he buries his head in her shoulder, too, it made me sigh like a schoolgirl and draw little hearts around Eleven + Amy on my figurative notebook.
Yes! This.

Yes! That and the music were the two things I had issues with in the first ep. But I love Eleven and Amy already! :)
I'm enjoying this last series of A2A much more than the previous two (although I did enjoy them). I like the fact that they're linking back to LoM more, and I'm hoping that we'll get a satisfactory end to the story.

For me I think the story is always a bit more about the Doctor and his companion than it is anything else, so I'm so glad that these two have been so wonderful so far. It means all the plot moments that I don't feel quite so excited about can be glossed happily over. :)
And yes, they are definitely laying a trail of LoM references all through this series of A2A. I am still a bit terrified of where it all might end up, but I am enjoying it enormously so far.
