Weren't bad though, were we?

Yesterday morning I woke up to my radio playing The Jean Genie, which made me feel slightly like I was having an Alex moment and had woken up in Ashes to Ashes. In a lot of ways, I'm still there.

As I've said once before, this comes with a lack of restraint warning. :)

Excellent analysis. I can't wait for the box set to appear so I can watch these last scenes again and again. They were the perfect ending to an exceptionally well-crafted series.

I agree! I shall be hovering over Amazon waiting for the box-set to make it to the sales. For some shows, once you know what happens, the impact is lost, but I really think this is one that will get even better on rewatching. As you said, it's just been beautifully crafted.

Thank you!

What a wonderful post and beautifully heartfelt tribute to the series. I had some issues with the finale but overall I enjoyed it hugely and you've highlighted a lot of my favourite moments :)

Thank you! If I'm honest, there were two things I knew we were going to get this series that I didn't want: an explanation and a conclusion. I was quite happy for them to go on as they were indefinitely. ;) I don't know that any finale would have completely won me over, but this came very close.
